About Megan
I am in my second year of a Ph.D. program in statistics and measurement in education. My background work is in behavioral neuroscience research, and I have a B.S. in psychology. I've tutored students in undergraduate statistics courses, and I independently taught an undergraduate statistics course titled "Introduction to Applied Statistics". I am most qualified to teach students who are in introductory, applied, research, and/or biomedical-related statistics courses.

Many statistics courses cover the same basic material, but they are all structured a bit differently. When I begin tutoring, I request copies of syllabi, e-texts (if available), and any assignment rubrics provided by your primary professor. This allows me to gauge the focus and structure of your specific course, and I attempt to tutor with that focus in mind. After all, what I might emphasize as a statistics tutor may not be your professor's primary focus; overall, I want & am here for you to succeed in your class.
I utilize visualization and example problems while teaching statistics. Visuals are quite useful in understanding the primary, core concepts, and working through multiple examples helps students comprehend the main features of different statistical techniques. R Studio/R Studio Cloud is my go-to analysis software, but as a disclaimer: While I know the basics of R, I, too, still google code. I like to use R Studio to integrate statistical problems with appropriate statistical techniques, striving for accurate statistical analysis.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
Megan was my piano teacher for 10 years as I grew from complete beginner to advanced player. I came to know her not just as my teacher but as a mentor and friend. She is truly an amazing person who takes the time to connect with her students and listen to their needs. For the past decade I have seen her continue to grow and excel in the fields of neuroscience and statistics. She is very intelligent and a natural teacher who I would highly recommend.
