Collaborative pianist, vocal coach, conductor, organist, and educator with more than twenty-five years of experience spanning higher education, opera, sacred music, chamber music, and professional performance. Recognized for exceptional collaborative artistry, stylistic versatility, and a student-centered approach to teaching and coaching, I have partnered with singers, instrumentalists, conductors, and ensembles in academic, professional, and liturgical settings throughout my career. About the lesson

A typical lesson starts with a brief conversation to hear about your practice for the week, then a warmup at the piano, and then a demonstration of what you have been working on. We we go over any concerns you may have, and then I will work creatively to help bring out your interpretation and develop your artist voice while maintaining stylistic integrity within each genre of music.
I teach by asking questions. There's an old adage that a good teacher will teach themselves out of a job. I want you to be independent and be able to learn on your own. I equip you with the skills to analyze your own playing, and the basic structured tools to improve it. You will come away feeling like "wow, I have so much to learn, and I know what to do this week in order to improve."
