About Giles
I am a recent graduate of the MSc Philosophy and Public Policy at the London School of Economics. I love philosophy and political theory. My interests have predominantly led me to policy-oriented analytic philosophy, although I do enjoy all kinds of philosophy. I am an interdisciplinary thinker and writer; for instance, my most recent distinction-level dissertation was titled: Should We Treat Grief: A Response to the DSM-V Debate Over the Bereavement Exclusion. And drawing from a wide range of philosophical, political, medical and psychological sources was on how medical policy ought to approach the treatment of grief. Teaching philosophy to students has always been a passion of mine and has been the focus of my volunteer work in the past.

I will customise my approach to my student and their unique needs/styles. However, in general, my sessions will be discussions based on the philosophical topics and questions the student needs help with studying. If the student is in the process of completing coursework or preparing for exams, then the sessions will involve the student sending their work for me to review prior to the session. As a distinction-level master's student, I am comfortable with teaching philosophy up to the undergraduate level. However, I can also assist master's students. Sessions would usually be an hour, but could be longer with a break halfway!
