About CHARLOTTE

To prepare me for tutoring, I have been a professional teacher for 30+ years in private and public schools. During that time I taught elementary students from grades one through fifth. Also, I received the required graduate school training to teach elementary gifted children in grades one through sixth for several years. Later I earned my PreK-4 endorsement to teach younger children and a Master's in Education Administration and Supervision. In addition to teaching elementary students, I taught college preparatory Reading, Study Skills, and Freshman English at a local community college after completing more graduate study in that subject. My credentials to teach Bible Study to children and adults came from years of teaching Sunday School and in the Children's and Adult Departments at Community Bible Study, an international Bible Ministry. Recently, I have published a book about my forty-year faith journey, now available to the public. Part of this testimony was about the hunger for God's Word that came on me, which I have diligently followed to guide me into in-depth Bible instruction. Whether in secular or spiritual literature, I love sharing knowledge and encouraging inquiring learners!

About the lesson

We will take a deep dive into inspired scripture by focusing on wordage, context, and meaning. This is not a superficial accounting of general concepts, but an analysis of what was said, its importance to the audience, the layers of meaning the authors intended, and the cultural context from which it came.
Bible Study includes children of all ages and adults.

For those who choose Reading with secular literature instead, there is a similar approach using comprehension skills for better retention and appreciation of meaning and plot. Reading includes children of all ages with phonetic skills as needed, and adults seeking a richer knowledge of fiction and nonfiction. Please join me!
