About Elvira Rosa
The learning process for adults looking to acquire skills in a new language while working full-time should be enjoyable, effective and personalized. My 25 years of teaching experience helps me a lot in this approach.
In general, there are two cases: either the student has no knowledge of the language, or he already has a certain mastery of it. If the student has no foundation in the language, we start by recognizing sounds, the alphabet and basic vocabulary. For those who already have a certain level, I offer them a simple test, available online, which assesses their understanding according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Depending on the results (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2), I can set up a tailor-made course to strengthen their knowledge and improve their fluency in the language. Then, the courses follow a guidebook, supplemented by online teaching materials, in order to make learning as enjoyable and enriching as possible.

The method I use in class is based on listening, repetition, reading and interaction, while explaining the associated grammar. Thus, we work on three of the four language skills in each session: speaking, listening and reading.
At the end of each class, I send homework for the week, which helps to consolidate grammar and develop the fourth skill: writing. Homework is essential to reinforce learning. I correct these assignments before the next class and we discuss them together at the start of the sessions to monitor progress.
Each student has their own personalized classroom on Google Classroom, where you can find educational materials, lessons already worked on and homework.
Preparation for certification exams:
I am used to supporting students who are preparing for language proficiency certification exams. In these cases, I adapt my method according to the specific needs.
Last but not least, since language is part of a culture, in most classes, depending on the time available and the level of the participant, I try to introduce this fundamental aspect through music or videos.
