About Xander
I'm a 19-year-old first-year university student at the University of Birmingham, studying Materials Science and Engineering. I'm originally from London, so would be happy to come and give in-person lessons outside of term time to any London-based tutees.
I have been part of various ensembles including the Centre for Young Musicians for 5 years and have played the drums with ensembles including the Senior Percussion Ensemble, as well as the London Youth Wind Band, which I was a part of for almost 4 years, and an avant-garde jazz fusion group called The Jam Afterwards.

I have 9 years' experience playing the drum kit, having been a student of jazz drummer Mark Bryant, who has also taught professional drummers such as Kaz Rodriguez. Through him, I became an advocate of efficient drumming, utilising the French grip and a more natural playing style both to avoid and overcome strain and injury, as well as build endurance.
Having played with various ensembles, I can help with any issues relating to either solo or ensemble work.
