About Jake
I have a passion for music and I wish to impart my knowledge onto my students. I have depths of orchestral experience, and having finished my gap year in which i taught several bass students while furthering my own skills, I have now entered the world of teaching. I studied double bass at Hereford Cathedral School, and am currently working on my Diploma while teaching at St Pauls Cathedral School in London.

Having been part of many of the best youth orchestras across the country, for example CBSO, NSSO and EYO to name but a few, and currently waiting to take my audition for NYO, I have more experience than most my age. Lessons can vary in length but would usually last around 45 minutes. Having played the bass for over a decade, I know that blasting technique can be a chore, hence I like to mix technique with more enjoyable aspects of playing, like learning new music, whether it be Jazz or Classical, or improvisation. I will adapt lesson plans for specific goals of a student, and do anything I can to make sure my students achieve these goals. My lessons are for anyone from absolute beginner up until Intermediate (grade 6-7 level).
