As a current university student at SFU and a graduate of the IB Diploma program with a 7 in IB English, I bring both recent academic experience and a clear understanding of what students need to succeed. I know firsthand how challenging IB can be, and I’m passionate about making the learning process easier, more structured, and less overwhelming. I take my role as a tutor seriously and come prepared for each session with clear strategies, structured explanations, and practical tips that actually work. I understand the exam expectations, and I focus on helping students build confidence, sharpen their writing, and strengthen their analytical skills. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as they learn. I believe that progress comes from patience, clarity, and consistency, and I work hard to make every lesson feel productive and approachable. About the lesson

As someone who graduated with the IB Diploma and scored a 7 in IB English, I’ve experienced the course from a student’s perspective and know exactly what skills lead to top results. My teaching methodology is based on clarity, structure, and confidence-building.
I focus on breaking complex ideas into simple, understandable steps while helping students develop their own voice in analysis and writing. I don’t just teach content — I teach students how to think critically, organize arguments effectively, and write with precision, which are essential for achieving 6s and 7s in IB English.
A typical lesson often includes:
A short warm-up or discussion to build analytical thinking
Targeted skill work (for example, Paper 1 analysis, essay structure, IO prep)
Step-by-step breakdown of literary techniques and how to apply them
Real-time feedback and strategies tailored to each student’s writing style
What sets me apart is that I’ve been through the IB myself, so I understand both the academic expectations and the emotional pressure. I create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.
