About Jordan
I'm Jordan Lovinger, a versatile multi-instrumentalist based in Denver, Colorado, specializing in guitar, bass, and vocals. Music has been at the center of my life for years, and I've built deep experience across jazz, funk, rock, blues, and singer-songwriter genres through both performance and study.
I'm currently an active performing musician in the Denver music scene, playing with multiple bands including Chick Magnet, Phooey, Blackhole Boogie Band (signed with PS Audio), and Groove Mountains. This real-world stage experience keeps my teaching fresh, relevant, and grounded in what it actually takes to play music at a professional level.
My passion for teaching comes from seeing students unlock new abilities and discover their own musical identity. I believe the best learning happens when theory meets practice, so I bring the same energy and creativity from the stage into every lesson. Whether we're working through jazz chord progressions, funk grooves, or your first open chords, I'm here to help you grow as a musician and have fun doing it.

My lessons are tailored to each student's goals, whether you're picking up the guitar or bass for the first time or looking to deepen your skills in jazz, funk, blues, or songwriting. I combine music theory fundamentals with hands-on, genre-specific techniques so you build a strong foundation while learning the music you love.
A typical lesson includes a warm-up, a review of concepts from the previous session, and focused work on new material. We might break down chord voicings, improvisation over common progressions, rhythm and groove techniques, or songwriting structure depending on your interests. I draw from real-world performance experience playing with multiple Denver bands across jazz, funk, rock, and blues to keep lessons practical and engaging.
I teach all skill levels from complete beginners to advanced players. Beginners will learn proper technique, basic theory, and their first songs. Intermediate and advanced students can explore jazz harmony, funk rhythms, modal improvisation, and creative songwriting approaches. Every lesson is designed to help you develop your own musical voice and gain confidence on your instrument.
