About Nicole
Hi, I'm Nicole Lin and I completed the IB Diploma with a 44 IB (99.85 ATAR) and am currently studying Doctor of Dental Medicine at Sydney University. I have tutored over 60 students in the last five years, and am passionate about students growing in academic confidence and studying strategically to perform at their best.
I received my Bachelor of Science in 2022 with a high distinction WAM, majoring in anatomy/histology and philosophy. In philosophy, I placed first in the course in 2020 and 2021, receiving additional prizes in subjects on Metaphysics, Time and Reality. My studies spanned a wide range of topics covered in the IB philosophy and TOK syllabus: aesthetics, ethics, and epistemology. As such, I can help provide much-needed clarity to complex TOK concepts and overall guidance for developing a strong, well-structured perspective in written essays for various subjects.

The key to academic success is striking a balance between three key skills; thorough learning, consolidation and effective application to past paper questions. One of the fundamental errors that students make is to study endlessly without absorbing any of the information that is actually essential to their exams. I often found myself with limited time to prepare come exam time, which forced me to develop a concise, compact study technique, meaning that I learn what is necessary with accuracy and efficiency.
Alongside my extensive collection of questionbanks and study notes, I will walk through each step of the process with you; first by breaking down the content to ensure full understanding, then through regular consolidation with past papers. Having worked with students of all ages, I have developed skills of flexibility and communication that can easily adapt to suit your learning strengths and target your weaknesses.
