About Vivian
As a young educator, I thrive from teaching how to learn and learning how to teach. I am on my way to becoming a BC certified teacher and have dedicated most of my time to the teaching profession through volunteer work at elementary schools and at my university campus. I believe it is important to know the students I work with, as it makes the time we have together during our lessons a fun and rewarding environment. If you are 17 or older: I will teach you skills in creating motivation for learning difficult areas in English/Language Arts/Humanities subjects. First we will talk about what you are struggling with in the class, then about your interests that can be integrated in your lessons. What sets me apart as a tutor is that I am willing to teach you how you can use AI programs as a tool for your writing rather than a crutch to barely pass. I am also very familiar with proper citations in MLA and APA style. These lessons are geared towards undergraduate students and Grades 11/12 for essay writing, novel studies, etc.
If you are an elementary aged student: I will first guide you through a few reading comprehension exercises to see where you are at and then cater my lessons to your skill level with reading, writing, pronunciation, and grammar in the English language. We will talk about what your interests are and integrate those into our reading and writing exercises to make them fun and exciting!
