About Adeline
I started teaching English at GCSE level in secondary schools nearly four years ago, after spending over 20 years working as a journalist for national newspapers, such as The Guardian and then for a few years in public relations for charities such as Variety, the Children's Charity. I enjoy teaching and seeing the progress my students make is encouraging. Two of my secondary age students, for example, mastered multiplication in a short space of time. That made me very happy!

The lessons are very practical. English includes reading short texts and answering questions on the texts to test reading ability as well as understanding. Maths involves learning times tables by looking at two or three at a time, then writing them down, without looking, before getting quizzed by me to determine how well they know them.
