About Irina
With 8 years of teaching and professional performance experience, I am a passionate violin tutor dedicated to helping students develop technical skill, musical expression, and self-confidence. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners exploring foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.
One of the most rewarding milestones in my career has been guiding students from struggling with posture, technique, or rhythm to confident performers capable of playing with skill, emotion, and interpretation.
My teaching approach emphasises building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive playing. I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to ensure students gain a holistic understanding of music.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s learning style, pace, and goals, creating a patient, supportive, and inspiring environment where students are encouraged to explore, express themselves, and reach their full potential. Teaching violin allows me to cultivate confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for music in every student.

I teach violin using a methodology rooted in motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to help students develop technical skill, artistic expression, and confidence. Each lesson is structured to balance technical exercises with creative exploration, improvisation, and performance preparation, tailored to each student’s abilities and goals.
Motivation drives learning. I guide students to set clear, achievable goals, track their progress, and celebrate milestones, fostering perseverance, self-confidence, and a love for music. Communication ensures lessons are interactive, collaborative, and supportive, allowing students to ask questions, express challenges, and share ideas freely.
Creativity is a cornerstone of my teaching. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises help students develop a personal artistic voice and deepen their emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, cultivating habits that encourage consistent growth and long-term success.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, giving students a holistic understanding of music. This methodology nurtures technical mastery, artistic expression, confidence, and lifelong engagement with music.
