About Margot
Hi! I’m Margot, a university kinesiology student with a strong academic background in math and science. I have always loved helping others understand concepts that seem tricky at first, and I believe that with the right approach, anyone can enjoy learning math. My tutoring style is calm, patient, and supportive. I take time to explain things in different ways until everything makes sense, using real-life examples that help students connect math to everyday situations. I focus on building confidence step by step so students do not just memorize, they understand. Each session is carefully structured around the student’s individual needs. We review key topics, work through examples together, and practice problem-solving strategies to prepare for tests and schoolwork. My goal is to make math less intimidating and more approachable, creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I specialize in tutoring elementary and middle school students, whether they need extra help keeping up, want to strengthen their skills, or are looking to get ahead in class. As a tutor, I focus on helping each student truly understand math rather than just memorizing formulas. I use clear explanations, everyday examples, and step-by-step problem-solving so students feel confident applying what they learn on their own. My teaching is patient, encouraging, and adapted to each student’s learning pace and style.
A typical lesson begins with reviewing key concepts from previous sessions to make sure the student feels solid before moving on. We then explore a new topic through guided examples and practice problems, discussing strategies and identifying where mistakes or confusion may come from. Each lesson ends with a short recap and a few at-home exercises to reinforce learning.
What sets me apart is the balance I bring between structure and empathy. As a kinesiology student, I understand how learning works best when students feel supported and engaged. I aim to create a calm, motivating environment where mistakes are seen as part of the learning process.
