About Hannah Lyda
About Me
I’m Hannah Lyda B. Galag, a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Communication graduate from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Open University Program. I also have an academic background in Information Technology, giving me a strong foundation in communication, research, writing, and technology.
I have professional experience as a freelance writer, where I have worked on academic and research-related projects since 2020. This experience has strengthened my ability to communicate ideas clearly, organize information, conduct research, and work carefully with written materials. I also have previous experience as a private tutor, which helped me develop a patient and supportive approach to teaching.
As a tutor, I believe that every student has the ability to learn when concepts are presented in a clear and understandable way. I focus on helping students build confidence while developing their own problem-solving, writing, research, and study skills. Rather than simply providing answers, I guide students through their lessons and homework so they can understand the process and become more independent learners.
My background in communication and academic writing allows me to explain complicated ideas in a simple and organized manner. I am committed to being professional, dependable, patient, and attentive to each student's individual needs.
Whether a student needs help understanding a lesson, completing homework, improving writing skills, reviewing schoolwork, or preparing for an academic task, I aim to provide a comfortable learning environment where they can ask questions, make mistakes, and improve with confidence.
With my academic background, tutoring experience, and years of freelance writing experience, I am dedicated to helping students learn effectively and reach their academic goals.

My Approach as a Tutor
Hi! I’m Hannah Lyda, and my goal as a tutor is to make learning easier, more understandable, and less stressful for every student. I believe students learn best when lessons are explained clearly and adapted to their individual needs, learning pace, and current level of understanding.
My Teaching Method and Techniques
I use a patient, student-centered approach. I first identify what the student already understands and which areas need improvement. I then explain concepts step by step using simple examples, guided practice, and questions that encourage students to think independently.
For homework assistance, I help students understand the process rather than simply giving them the answers. I encourage them to solve problems on their own while providing guidance whenever they get stuck. I may also use practice questions, review exercises, and real-life examples to make difficult topics easier to remember.
A Typical Lesson Plan
A typical lesson begins with a short review of previous topics and a discussion of the student's current homework or learning goals. We then focus on the main lesson, where I explain important concepts and demonstrate examples.
Afterward, the student works through practice problems with my guidance. I gradually reduce my assistance as their confidence improves. At the end of the lesson, we review the key points, identify anything that still needs practice, and set goals for the next session.
What Sets Me Apart
What sets me apart is my patience, adaptability, and focus on genuine understanding. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adjust my explanations and teaching style based on what works best for them. I also aim to create a comfortable environment where students can ask questions freely and learn from their mistakes without feeling pressured.
Who My Lessons Are For
My lessons are suitable for elementary, middle school, and high school students who need help with homework, assignments, lesson reviews, exam preparation, or difficult topics. I can also provide support to students who simply want to strengthen their understanding and become more confident and independent learners.
As Hannah Lyda, I strive to make every lesson productive, encouraging, and tailored to the student's individual academic needs.
