About Somi
I am a committed Spanish tutor with 7+ years of experience helping High School and College students become confident language learners. During my teaching career, I have successfully taught around 150 students with different learning needs and academic goals. This experience has strengthened my belief that every student deserves personalised attention and encouragement.
My teaching philosophy emphasises understanding concepts before memorising them. I create engaging lessons that develop grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, speaking, listening, reading, and writing through practical activities and real-life communication. Students are encouraged to ask questions, participate actively, and practise regularly.
I also include cultural learning to help students understand the traditions and everyday life of Spanish-speaking communities. Regular assessments and feedback sessions help students stay motivated while recognising their progress.
One of my greatest achievements has been helping many students improve their confidence, examination results, and communication skills. Watching learners grow from beginners into confident Spanish speakers is the most rewarding part of my work.
My mission is to make Spanish learning enjoyable, practical, and inspiring. I look forward to helping every student achieve success while developing skills that will remain valuable throughout their academic and professional journey.

I teach Spanish with a focus on creating an interactive and enjoyable learning journey that helps students develop both skill and confidence. Accountability is central to my approach, guiding students to set clear goals, monitor their progress, and take ownership of their learning.
Through Integrity, I provide honest, ethical, and consistent guidance, ensuring lessons are tailored to each student’s strengths and challenges. I integrate Flexibility, adapting lesson plans, exercises, and teaching methods to match individual learning styles, interests, and proficiency levels.
Communication is key in my sessions; I encourage conversation, questions, and interactive activities, helping students internalise vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation naturally. A Positive learning environment allows students to feel confident, motivated, and supported as they explore the language.
In addition to Spanish, I include relevant subjects such as cultural insights, literature, and grammar practice, helping learners connect language skills to real-world contexts. My goal is to empower students to speak fluently, understand cultural nuances, and develop a lifelong passion for Spanish.
