About Timothy
I am a Historian and Linguist. I attained straight A* in 9 GCSEs, including in History, Russian and French. I also achieved A Stars in A Levels. I attended one of the most academically competitive schools in the UK and received offers to study History and Modern Languages from high-calibre Universities such as the LSE. I am experienced in the requirements to excel in History, Russian and French at all levels, and can provide exceptional tuition to students with this ambition.

I break down problems to understand students' weaknesses, enabling a structured, targeted approach to building core skills and foundational knowledge. I align this closely with improvements that drive value in examinations and make my lessons engaging to stimulate learning. In particular, I am highly experienced in teaching GCSE qualifications, with a proven track record of helping students rapidly improve — including supporting learners who achieved C grades in mock exams to reach A in their final results within just a few months. In addition, I can prepare your child for the Eton King's Scholarship exam, the Winchester College Entrance exam, the Westminster Queen's Scholarship exam as well as the Common Entrance exam, having sat them myself, drawing on my own personal experience of these competitive assessments. My lessons are generally 1 hour; however, I can accommodate longer lessons, if needed, occasionally at no extra cost. I teach Year 6 - Year 11.
