About Sophie
As a tutor, I will never force a timeline; I want a student to understand concepts and have that positively reflected in scores, rather than prioritizing grades before anything.
I also value comfort and collaboration: I work with students to understand what they need help with, and how we can best approach it.

Hi, I'm Sophie! I'm a senior at Brooklyn Technical High School in New York. I am an aerospace engineering major at my school, taking advanced math and physics courses. I also have a deep passion for humanities, and advanced placement English classes help me to tutor in English and history subjects. With three years of experience working with students both in person and virtually to tutor them for state exams, city tests, and school, I am ready to tackle any problem!
My approach is as follows: I get to know a student first. Determining the way they learn best is what matters to me! Once we establish what that is and a schedule, we can diligently work to improve in areas of struggle.
I prioritize understanding over memorization, and will work to make sure a student is confident in the subject.
I have experience with tutees ages 7 to 14, and have tutored for both elementary and middle school classes, and for AP exams. If you have any questions as to what courses I've taken, please feel free to ask!
