About Brooke
I am a guitar tutor with more than 7 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Studio Music and Jazz, Guitar Principal. I teach Electric, Acoustic, Classical, and Bass Guitar, specializing in media composition. Lessons focus on atmospheric textures, thematic development, and sound design. Students work with digital audio workstations (DAWs) to integrate guitar into film and game music. I follow a student-centered approach designed for youth and adult learners. Sessions cover melody, harmony, rhythm, tone, and phrasing. Students practice creating layered guitar parts and combining them with other instruments. I guide them in composing motifs, musical cues, and cinematic textures. Creativity, experimentation, and problem-solving are central to my methodology. Lessons include performing and recording exercises. Students build technical skills while fostering artistic expression. I also provide guidance on stylistic interpretation and tone shaping. Exercises develop musical ear, timing, and expressive range. Each session is hands-on and engaging. Students practice real-world applications for media composition. I focus on developing ear training and aural skills for guitar students. Lessons cover interval recognition, melodic dictation, and song transcription. I work with The Campfire Strummer and The Blues Seeker, providing exercises suited to their goals. Students practice identifying melodies, chords, and rhythmic patterns by ear. I combine listening, singing, and hands-on guitar exercises. Call-and-response and improvisation reinforce learning. Students learn to transcribe songs and analyze musical structures.
