About Terri
I have been an instructor since 2001. I love teaching and am very happy to be here with you. My goal is to offer an environment that is orderly, focused, challenging, and accommodating. A healthy environment is key to student success. My credentials include a master’s degree in art history, a bachelor’s degree in art history, and English Literature with a minor in Southeast Asian Studies. I am currently continuing my education, just as you are, by taking numerous graduate-level courses in Education, etc. My goal is to have you succeed.

My approach as an instructor and tutor combines contextual depth with student-centered learning. My goal is for students to understand content and engage with it, making art and humanities meaningful and connected to human experiences. My teaching method and techniques include an interdisciplinary, discussion-driven approach rooted in visual analysis, historical context, and critical thinking. I begin with open-ended questions to include students’ perspectives and prior knowledge while guiding them through inquiry-based exploration using images, texts, and timelines.
