About Rachel
I am currently working in Coláiste na Coiribe in Galway City as a placement teacher. I'm dealing mainly with Junior Cycle students, teaching both English and Irish.
I've also worked in primary schools in Cork city, working with the University of College of Cork to promote the Irish language through different mediums. We looked at how to make the language more engaging for kids and how to enhance their lingustic skills aurally, orally as well as written.
I have worked in Coláiste Uisce for several years during the summer courses and during off - season. I would be supervise the students, between the ages of 13-18, within the Coláiste, helping to immerse them in the Irish language while observing how students used and approved their language skills. We used various systems and had different approaches depending on the child's capability and confidence with the language in which we would cater around them and make sure by the end of the course they had developed a new found confidence and respect for their language.

Lessons will be catered to each student individuality depending on their abilities and what they would like to focus on. I am aware that each student has their own learning style and that adapility is key when teaching.
The length of each lesson will be about 40 minutes to an 1 hour. I am happy to give lessons to all ages at all different levels. I am open to lessons for primary school students, secondary school higher and ordinary level students and adults who are seeking to learn/ improve their Irish.
I have worked at Coláiste Uisce for the last three summers. This summer I worked as Bainsteoir Feitheoireacht (Supervision Manager) where I managed a group of supervisors in ensuring a safe and hospitable learning environment for the students. I have worked with students at all levels and understand that developing confidence in their language abilities is key.
