About Marcus
My greatest qualities are patience and efficiency. Both very important for teaching and doing Maths. I like giving people opportunities. I believe in the concept of trail and error as I would argue that the failure is key to success.
I was an A level student 3 years ago and I still remember the nerve wrecking feeling before exams. Hence, I will have a great understanding of my students' mental state and will teach accordingly. Moreover, I believe that students tend to perform well in subjects that they like. Hence, my mission is to make my students find their passion in Maths, find its beauty and thrive in it.
Other than Maths, I am passionate about football and music. I play football weekly and I have managed to teach myself the guitar.

Understanding and practise is key to maths. As a young tutor, I like to treat my students as peers. Hence, my lessons tend to be more relaxed than ones given in school. You should expect detailed explanations behind solutions and a highly exam-focused schedule in my lessons.
Teaching is the best way to learn. During A levels, I have taught my peers. As some of my peers struggled with English, I managed to translate A level content from English to Chinese and taught them in a way that they are able to understand. They managed to improved significantly. This demonstrates my high adaptiveness in my lessons and teaching capability.
I am very confident to teach GCSE level maths, including addition maths. I am interested in teaching lower levels as well.
