About Zai
I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, so throughout my educational experiences, I have volunteered in local schools. During my freshman year of college, I was a classroom assistant and gained first-hand experience applying diverse learning methods to groups of students when teaching various subjects. I was also a tutor and created lesson plans that helped students build critical thinking, curiosity, and problem-solving skills. I am ending my sophomore year of college and during this year, I mentored 100+ students from two different elementary schools in my college town. As a mentor, I assisted students with their homework and counseled students with academic and behavioral problems.

As a teacher, I prioritize my students' needs and provide methods and techniques that cater to them. In my lessons, I like to help students connect prior knowledge with new knowledge through unique activities. I am extremely passionate about what I do and it is an honor to help students acknowledge their full potential academically and personally. I can teach all grades, but my main focus is K-6.
