About Not

I am a Year 11 student in NSW currently studying Mathematics Advanced and Extension 1 for the HSC. Having recently completed Years 7–10 mathematics and now progressing through more advanced content, I have developed a strong understanding of key topics across the curriculum, including algebra, functions, trigonometry, and problem-solving techniques.

I aim to help students build both confidence and a deep understanding of mathematics by focusing on clear explanations and step-by-step guidance. Rather than relying on memorization, I encourage students to understand the reasoning behind methods so they can apply their knowledge effectively to a wide range of questions, including exam-style problems.

I take a patient and supportive approach to tutoring, adapting my teaching style to suit each student’s needs and learning pace. My goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and working through challenges.

I am passionate about helping students improve their mathematical ability, strengthen their foundational skills, and achieve their academic goals.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring focuses on building a strong conceptual understanding of mathematics rather than relying on memorization of formulas. I aim to help students understand why methods work, so they can apply their knowledge confidently to unfamiliar problems. I tailor my explanations to each student’s learning style and break down complex topics into clear, manageable steps. My teaching methods include step-by-step guided problem solving, targeted practice questions, revision of key concepts and formulas, and the use of exam-style questions to help students build confidence under test conditions. I also encourage active participation by guiding students through their reasoning rather than simply providing answers.

Typical lessons are 60 minutes long, which allows time to review previous content, introduce or reinforce new concepts, work through practice questions, and address any specific difficulties the student may have. Longer sessions can also be arranged if needed.

I am currently a Year 11 student in NSW studying Mathematics Advanced and Extension 1 for the HSC. Through my studies, I have developed a strong understanding of algebra, functions, trigonometry, and problem-solving techniques aligned with the NSW curriculum. Having recently completed Year 7–10 mathematics and now progressing through higher-level HSC content, I am familiar with both foundational concepts and the skills required to succeed in more advanced mathematics, allowing me to explain topics in a clear and relatable way.

My lessons are suitable for Year 7–10 students in NSW who are looking for support with school mathematics, whether they need help strengthening their understanding of core concepts or improving their performance in assessments and exams.
