About Zoe

I have always been naturally inclined to support others and to share my passion for English Literature and Language. From my sister teaching me to read when I was younger, to my English teacher supporting me throughout my 7 years of education at school, I understand the importance of patience and personal passion for your chosen subject.
In my personal life, English is extremely prominent as a personal interest despite having concluded my examinations. I indulge in both classic and modern literature, and often write short stories and poems to participate in writing competitions. Winning the Athenaeum Young Writer’s award and being published in a creative writing anthology solidified my confidence in my ability to write eloquently and with precision and depth.
Furthermore, a strength of mine is tailoring my skill to meet the requirements of the GCSE mark schemes. The mark schemes for the student’s exams are crucial, and my tutoring will teach the student how to achieve the most marks through hitting all assessment objectives.

About the lesson

I approach tutoring with patience and enthusiasm, focusing on exam technique to prepare the student for GCSE English Literature and/or GCSE English Language exams. I have comprehensive knowledge regarding the AQA English syllabus and mark schemes for both Literature and Language, but I am happy to adapt to the exam board by which the student will be examined.
I achieved a grade of 9 (equivalent A**) in both English Literature and English Language GCSEs, and achieved a grade A in English Literature A Level. I am currently an Undergraduate student at the University of Liverpool studying Law.
I strive to encourage a love of English in students and to support them in tailoring their writing to the objectives of the mark scheme, in order to achieve the highest marks possible.
This tutoring would be suitable for Year 10 students preparing for mock exams and for Year 11 students who will be sitting their GCSEs. I will tailor the lesson to be suitable for the grade ambition of the student, whether that be to achieve a pass in English or to achieve a higher grade to support further studies at Sixth Form or college.
