My tutoring approach is all about helping students build confidence and become independent learners. I start by giving prompts and guidance, then gradually step back as they get the hang of things. This way, they really start to take control of their own learning.
In my sessions, I focus a lot on exam-style questions, tackling one topic at a time so that students can really master each part. I also make sure to bring back previous topics through spaced repetition to keep everything fresh in their minds and prevent them from forgetting what they've already learned.
I usually keep lessons around 60 minutes long, which I think is a good balance—it’s enough time to dig into the material without making it too overwhelming. I've been tutoring GCSE Maths and lower levels for the past year and volunteered in a GCSE Maths class, working one-on-one with students. This experience has helped me understand how to support different learners.
My lessons are geared towards students prepping for their GCSE Maths exams or those who need a solid foundation in maths at a lower level. I work with students of a range of ages and skill levels, and I’m always ready to adapt to each student's needs.
