About Noah

I come from a background of academic struggle. What that means for me: I have autism and ADHD that went undiagnosed for years. As a result, I received no supports; nobody guided me through mathematics or any of my other courses, and I very fortunately somehow made it out alive, although I wasn't always sure I would. That path is NOT for everyone— personally, no one should have to experience it. But you're in the right place; that uncertainty and anxiety doesn't need to be present for you, and I can help! I also come with a year's worth of experience in tutoring algebra, and my former students (from all skill levels) were a delight to teach. I would have never quit that job if I hadn't decided to move colleges— but now, I hope to benefit many more with my knowledge through Superprof! Some individuals may worry about my communication skills, given my disorders. Rest assured! I can communicate well— if not better than my peers— because I have experienced, and therefore, can identify the common roadblocks of academic struggle, and will gladly work with you to resolve your struggles. I am also highly empathetic and understanding, and am someone that will readily discuss the "basic" thought processes of mathematical topics with you, to aid in your understanding. (I love "translating" difficult concepts to easy concepts). It is possible to succeed, and I want to help you ensure you can. Thank you for reading!

About the lesson

I am very much in love with math, specifically algebra. However, I struggled with grappling the basics until I had advanced beyond them!
I lacked the conceptualization powers at the appropriate level, as I have autism and ADHD, and the content was not taught to me in an intuitive and effective way. Whether you have or do not have a disorder that impedes your learning, I come from a standpoint of academic struggles, and I understand how to help people that have a harder time with subjects like math. I know that if you entrust me with helping you succeed, we can build your skills (and your confidence in your skills!) to an acceptable/passable level, if not better!
