About Helius
I am planning on becoming a doctor in the near future since that’s exactly what I’m studying towards. I’ve always loved the medical sciences and mathematics. What I most enjoy about teaching is getting to see that eureka moment for myself as I guide you to where you want to be :) I also get to see different perspectives on something I’ve interpreted very differently. I play three musical instruments which are violin, piano, and electric guitar (I’d definitely be happy to be a music teacher too!). Here are my qualifications and achievements: My best subjects in school were Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English, and Japanese, but I also did Year 12 (Australian Year 11) Biology with perfect grades, so I can definitely help a bit with that. I achieved 97th percentile in Cambridge O Level Mathematics (2020), 92nd percentile in Cambridge O Level English and Literature (2021), and 98th percentile in Cambridge AS Level Mathematics :) I also did an advanced math course at the University of Canterbury called a STAR course, specifically MATH-199 AIMS. I finished that with a 95% overall mark and 100% on the mid-year exam, so I can do most of Cambridge A Level further mathematics or specialist math. I won the Konnichi wa Senior Speech Competition at UC, and have achieved N3 JLPT at 88.6th percentile. I also achieved 92nd percentile on the UCAT 2023 (3060 excluding SJT). I was invited for interviews to Monash and UNSW for medicine. I got NCEA scholarship in both Calculus and Physics and finished off NCEA with 375E credits! Levels 1, 2, and 3 endorsed with excellence and highest excellence credits and GPA in my school (Christchurch Boys’ High School)

I have done tutoring voluntarily and with remuneration in the past, as well as have been tutored myself. Don't be afraid to make mistakes :) I've been there, and I've seen it all. I am quite adaptable in terms of teaching, and I can explain things in a way which makes sense to you, not just me! I won't punish you for not doing your homework too, but there will be a tiny tiny bit of disappointment if I recommended you do it... I'll try my best to bring you a fun, but dedicated learning experience. I’m happy to have you bring questions to me, or walk you through some new material! I’d also be happy to do in-person tutoring if you happen to be around in the Gold Coast and need some Cambridge or subject help! Note that I don’t really know the Australian curriculum, but I do know the content.
