About Carissa
Hello! I am so glad that you are considering me as your tutor. I like to make things a little personal, so that each student feels comfortable when learning with me. I am a mother of a three-year-old girl. I am also a full-time student of English and Teacher Education for grades K-12. Earlier in 2023, I opened my LLC for housekeeping, but my true passion is teaching.
As a K-12 teacher education student, I value the importance of a good education, but I have seen first-hand how our current standards and education system can work against students' strengths. That is why I choose to differentiate my lessons to each student's needs. I believe the student learns best when they are given an education that is tailored to him/her/them as an individual. Through tutoring, I can give each student my full attention, making this more possible than it is in the classroom.

In reading and writing, each lesson must be specifically tailored to the individual's needs and interests. I believe in differentiation to best teach all students. My lessons are suited for students in grades four through twelve, and for people of all ages who are interested in obtaining their GED. I am also open to assisting college students, pursuing associate's degrees, with essays in any subject. As a student who left high school early to pursue college full-time, I have taken the GED, myself so I know the expectations of each area.
