About Matilda
I want to become a tutor because I understand firsthand how difficult it can be to thrive in an inflexible school system. During my early education, I often struggled with rigid teaching methods that didn’t cater to different learning styles, leaving me feeling frustrated and overlooked. Despite this, I remained determined and ultimately achieved straight A*s at GCSE, proving to myself that perseverance and the right approach to learning can overcome even the toughest academic challenges. My passion for English language and literature has been a constant throughout my academic journey—subjects in which I have consistently earned A*s, and which I have pursued with genuine enthusiasm. Studying at Cambridge, a goal I worked tirelessly toward, has only deepened my love for literature and my appreciation of its power to shape ideas and connect people. I now hope to share that passion with others. As a tutor, I want to support students who might feel the same way I once did—disconnected or uninspired—and help them discover their own strengths. I believe that with encouragement, creativity, and the right guidance, every student can succeed. My aim is not just to teach English, but to inspire confidence, curiosity, and a lasting love for the subject.

Typically, I would do a one hour session, and then we can be adaptable from then on. I am more than happy to tutor A-level English Literature (although language works too), or GCSE.
