About James
I’m James, an MSci Natural Sciences student at Exeter and a committed rugby player. My passion for tutoring comes from wanting to show students that STEM is more than memorisation—it’s about understanding the logic and beauty behind how the world works. I focus on breaking down complex ideas clearly and step by step, helping learners build confidence, think critically, and master their subjects.

My tutoring style focuses on clarity, rigour, and connection. I don’t just teach formulae—I help students grasp the why behind concepts, bridging theory with practical application so knowledge feels intuitive and useful. By breaking down complex ideas step by step and using visual aids, coding examples, and diagnostic feedback, I create a learning environment where students feel confident tackling challenging problems. This combination of deep subject expertise and collaborative teaching empowers learners to think critically and truly master their subjects.
