About Maki

Hi! I’m Maki, a professional violinist and graduate student at USC. I’ve been playing violin since I was young and started through the Suzuki method. I have extensive solo and orchestral performance experience and regularly perform around Los Angeles. I’ve also had opportunities to perform for recordings, soundtracks, and music videos, including an appearance in Don Toliver’s “Excavator” music video. Outside of classical music, I love pop music and share violin covers on Instagram and YouTube. I enjoy bringing that same passion for music into my teaching!

About the lesson

I teach all ages and levels, tailoring lessons to your goals, from fundamentals and technique to classical repertoire, auditions, anime, or J-pop songs. Drawing on my Suzuki background, I create encouraging lessons using personalized materials that help you improve while enjoying violin.
