About Emma
I understand that History may seem boring - In fact, History was not the first choice of my educational pathway! I fell into History by chance, and now want to share the passion that I have curated in a fun and challenging way that inspires students to see History from a modern day perspective. A little about me! -> I am in my final year of my History degree after 5 years of study. My dissertation this academic year is on the impact of the Holocaust on queer identity which I believe is a community that is severely misrepresented in discussions surrounding WW2. While this is my first time tutoring in an academic subject, I have taught sport education for 10+ years and so can communicate confidently with children of all ages.

It is important to me that students feel they understand the context of what they are learning - Not just memorising facts. In my class, we will cover a broader range of understanding. I find this inspires more memory retention and encourages children to find ways to relate history to the modern day. I offer lessons for all ages, but specialise in GCSE and A-level topics. Some of the key areas of my degree include: - American Civil Rights - Apartheid - American Revolution - Feminism and the fight for women's rights - WW2/Nazi Germany - Cold War - East Asian History (Ancient Chinese History)
