About Aiyana
Hello! My name is Aiyana, and I am a current English undergraduate at UCL. After witnessing the frustrations my peers often experienced with English Literature, alongside being exposed to the phenomenal teaching and guidance of my teachers at Highgate School, it has become my passion to assist others and equip them with the skills that have enabled my own progression in the subject.
After achieving the highest A* grade in my year, having worked to overcome a previous streak of B grades throughout sixth form, I can confidently say that I understand both the challenges students can face and the strategies required to overcome them. I hope to use this experience to help you or your child develop greater confidence, strengthen analytical skills and ultimately achieve their full potential in English.

I would use a personalised, student-led approach, adapting lessons to each student’s strengths, weaknesses and learning style. For English Literature, I would develop students’ ability to analyse language, structure, themes and context in depth, equipping my students with the skillset to construct sophisticated arguments.
For English Language, I would focus on close analysis, effective writing techniques and exam strategy through guided practice and timed questions. I would use model answers, written by me, alongside targeted feedback and active discussion to strengthen critical thinking, exam confidence and independent learning.
