About Faaz

Hi! I’m Faaz, a Computer Science student at York University who loves making math less intimidating and more intuitive.

I’ve worked as a Math Instructor teaching high school and first-year university students in subjects like advanced functions, calculus, and statistics. I’ve helped students who used to “hate math” start actually enjoying it once they understood the logic behind it.

My lessons are conversational and tailored — I explain each concept step-by-step until it truly clicks. I focus on building understanding and confidence, not memorizing formulas.

I tutor:
• Grades 9–12 (Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus, Data Management)
• University-level intro math & statistics
• Test and exam preparation

About the lesson

Are you ready to take on numbers, equations, and mind-bending calculus maybe?
I have got some witty explanations that will turn even the most complex concepts into a piece of cake! So, why should you choose me as your math guru? Here's the scoop: Approachability? Check! I promise to be the least intimidating math tutor you've ever met. No judgment, just encouragement and a sprinkle of silliness to make learning a blast. Personal touch? Absolutely! We'll tailor our lessons to fit your unique learning style. Flexibility? You betcha, As a student myself, I know life can be a whirlwind of deadlines and coffee-fueled study sessions. That's why I offer flexible scheduling options to accommodate your chaotic schedule. The clases will be online.

Some of the topics covered : - Geometry [Lines and Angles, Coordinate Geo, Planes] - Surface area and Volume - Surds and Exponents - Binomial Theorem [ooh that's interesting!] - Points in Space - Probability - Trigonometry - Statistics - Sequences and Series - Algebra - Sets - Quadratic Equations - Calculus [nobody likes that :)]

So, the thing is that most of the times I would not come up with my own study topics. What I will do is: 1) We will look through your coursework or textbook and see how things are going for you with that [I teach IB too] 2) I will help you understand anything in there and whatever you are studying in school 3) And our schedule can remain dynamic and will be flexible. So you get a gist of it right, I will work according to your needs. And just making sure you know I teach all grades and university students too![like sometimes]. See you there!
