About Tyler
Hi, I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy student with a strong background in math, biology, anatomy, physiology, and other science-based coursework. Throughout my education, I have developed a deep understanding of how to break down complex concepts into simple, manageable steps that make sense for students at different learning levels.
I am passionate about helping students build confidence in subjects that can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially math and science. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them become more independent, confident learners who understand how to approach challenging problems on their own.
I pride myself on being patient, professional, and adaptable to each student’s individual learning style. Whether a student needs support with homework, test preparation, or strengthening foundational skills, I create lessons that are organized, encouraging, and focused on long-term success.
As a graduate-level healthcare student, I bring strong communication skills, professionalism, and a results-driven mindset to every session. I understand the importance of reliability, preparation, and creating a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

My approach as a tutor is patient, supportive, and focused on helping students truly understand concepts instead of just memorizing steps. I work to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and making mistakes, because that is where real learning happens. My goal is to help students improve both their grades and their confidence in math and science.
Teaching method and techniques:
I start by identifying where the student is struggling and then break difficult concepts into smaller, easy-to-understand steps. I use guided practice, real-world examples, visual explanations, and repetition to reinforce learning. For math, I focus on problem-solving strategies and showing multiple ways to approach a question. For science, I emphasize understanding the “why” behind concepts so students can apply what they learn to homework, quizzes, and tests.
A typical lesson plan:
A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in on previous material and any current homework questions. Then we work through the main topic together step-by-step, practicing several example problems before the student tries problems independently with my support. I finish each lesson with a summary of key ideas, common mistakes to avoid, and a plan for what to practice before the next session.
What sets me apart as a tutor:
What sets me apart is my ability to make challenging math and science topics feel manageable and less intimidating. I focus on building confidence just as much as content knowledge, helping students become more independent learners over time. I am patient, adaptable, and able to explain the same concept in different ways until it clicks for the student.
Who the lessons are for:
My lessons are designed for middle school and high school students taking math and science courses, including pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, biology, chemistry, and general science. They are especially helpful for students who need extra support with homework, test preparation, study strategies, or building a stronger foundation in STEM subjects. I also have taken doctorate level courses in anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics for higher level education students looking for assistance.
