About Alexa
As a choreographer and performance instructor, I specialize in youth education in the performing arts, and strive to foster an encouraging learning environment for students of all skill levels that will grow their confidence on stage and their appreciation for their art. Offering private lessons in musical theater, acting, dance, and choreography, I am passionate about educating others on the creativity and dedication that goes into blending vocal, dance, and acting techniques to produce spectacular performances. With experience as both a performer and educator in the arts, I bring a unique perspective to my instruction that both challenges students to go beyond their comfort zones and aids them in discovering their own creative expression in the arts while preparing them for the professional world.

Dance:
Through a variety of styles including jazz, tap, heels, modern, funk, lyrical, and musical theater, students will learn how to merge the fundamentals of ballet with various movement techniques to further their creative expression through dance. They will be prepped with techniques to face audition dance calls, and to quickly retain choreography even under pressure. Whether they seek a career in the performing arts or simply want to pick up a new hobby, students will learn to utilize their bodies not only for individual expression but for ensemble storytelling.
Choreography:
Through the use of techniques that can only be obtained by experience, students will learn the many aspects involved in creating and instructing spectacular choreographed pieces. They will learn to utilize movement, formations, style, skill level, personal expression, visual texture, and more to be able to produce their own creative pieces. From creating their own movement to teaching their work to others, students will gain the skillsets necessary to create choreography that can have a powerful impact on audiences.
