About Kathy
I am currently a senior at UC Berkeley double majoring in Data Science and Operations Research Management Systems (Analytics), looking to work with students to give them confidence in their academic journey. I graduated from high school in San Jose as valedictorian where I grew a passion for learning and helping others learn.
I have always liked helping people in any way I could, so you’d often find me staying after class to help my struggling classmates with new class topics or messaging friends to explain difficult math problems. With that, I knew being a tutor would be something I enjoyed.
I have experience working with all ages from elementary to re-entry students.
I have a very bubbly, positive personality that will make learning fun and exciting! I can’t wait to meet new students :)

My lessons are geared towards the needs of the student whether it is additional practice on difficult concepts or new explanations of material from class. I like to make analogies and think about concepts in untraditional ways that can help people retain information better. Since this will be remote tutoring, I will utilize screen sharing capabilities and interactive whiteboards to interact with students. I am very open and flexible to cater my lessons to the students’ preference!
Apart from math, I can also tutor in English and college prep (college applications) as needed.
