About Sophia
I’ve always been interested in criminal justice and understanding people, which led me to study Criminology and Criminal Justice Studies before going on to work as a probation officer.
Through both my studies and professional experience, I developed a strong understanding of what’s expected in academic work and how to apply that in practice. I know how overwhelming it can feel when assignments aren’t clear or when you’re trying to improve your writing without much guidance.
I enjoy helping people make sense of things, build confidence, and feel more in control of their work. Seeing someone go from feeling stuck to understanding what they’re doing is the most rewarding part.
Outside of this, I’m friendly, approachable, and easy to talk to. I want sessions to feel comfortable and supportive, not intimidating.

My lessons are relaxed, supportive and tailored to what you need help with most.
At the start, we’ll talk through what you’re working on or finding difficult; whether that’s an essay, assignment, or preparing for a probation application or interview.
I’ll then help you break things down, improve structure, and develop stronger critical analysis or reflective writing, depending on what’s needed.
You’re welcome to bring a piece of work with you, or we can focus on understanding expectations and how to approach your studies more confidently.
My aim is to make things clearer, more manageable, and help you feel more confident in your work by the end of the session.
