About Kate

Hi, I'm Kate! I'm a California credentialed teacher with a Master’s in Education from UC Santa Barbara and a Bachelor’s degree in Comparative International Studies with a minor in Spanish from San Diego State University.

I currently teach middle school history in San Diego and have previously taught high school U.S. History, Government, and Economics. I also spent two years living in Madrid, Spain, where I taught English to students of varying ages and language levels.

I'm passionate about education and love helping students gain confidence in subjects they once found challenging. I strive to create a welcoming, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I believe learning should be engaging, meaningful, and even fun!

About the lesson

I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to their individual needs, goals, and learning styles. I start by identifying areas where students need support, then use discussion, visuals, real-world examples, and guided practice to make challenging topics easier to understand.

As a California credentialed teacher with a Master’s in Education, I have experience teaching middle and high school students in U.S. History, World History, Government, and Economics, as well as teaching English in Spain for two years. I also have experience supporting multilingual learners and students with diverse learning needs.

My lessons are engaging, supportive, and focused on building confidence. Whether you're preparing for an exam, improving your English, strengthening your writing, or simply trying to understand a difficult topic, I'll meet you where you are and help you succeed!
