About James

Hi, my name is James. I am a creative writer, filmmaker, and storyteller with a strong passion for helping students improve their confidence in English and writing. My background in writing has taught me how important clear communication, strong structure, and personal voice are, whether someone is writing an essay, a story, or preparing for a class assignment.

As a tutor, I bring patience, creativity, and a calm approach to every lesson. I understand that writing can feel overwhelming, so I focus on breaking assignments down into simple, manageable steps. My goal is to help students understand what they are writing, why it matters, and how to express their ideas more clearly.

I can help with essay writing, grammar, reading comprehension, creative writing, storytelling, outlining, revising drafts, and building stronger writing habits. I take each student seriously and create a supportive space where they can ask questions, make mistakes, and grow.

I believe every student has a voice. My job is to help them strengthen it.

About the lesson

My lessons are built around helping students become stronger, more confident writers. I focus on English, essay writing, grammar, reading comprehension, creative writing, and storytelling. My teaching style is patient, clear, and encouraging. I like to meet students where they are, then help them improve step by step without making writing feel intimidating.

A typical lesson may include reviewing an assignment, breaking down the prompt, building an outline, improving grammar and sentence structure, strengthening arguments, or revising a draft together. For creative writing students, we can work on story ideas, characters, dialogue, structure, and how to make the reader care.

What sets me apart is my background as a creative writer and filmmaker. I understand writing not only as a school subject, but as a way to communicate ideas, emotions, and stories clearly. My goal is to help students find their voice while also learning the structure and skills needed to succeed in class.

My lessons are best for middle school, high school, college students, and beginner writers who need support with essays, English assignments, grammar, reading, or creative writing.
