About Joshua
I became integrated with the UNT Chemistry department in 2018.
I first became a Study Group Leader under Dr. Sushama A. Dandekar for organic chemistry. She introduced me to some opportunities through which I became an intern at the BioDiscovery Research Building (SRB) with Dr. Elizabeth J. Skellam. I then applied to work for the Chemical stockroom in the department. After working there, I became an independent researcher with Dr. Francis D'Souza in the Organic division where I am today. I have just graduated Fall 2022 in December with an ACS certified Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry. Organic is my specialty, although I also enjoy Neuroscience and Physical Chemistry.

I have experience in helping students succeed. We can meet often weekly and you may contact me whenever is convenient for you, including by phone. I always give students my phone number so I can respond quickly for you. Zoom, or in person meetings are per your preference. I teach at the university level and have many practice resources we can explore together. Plus I'm kinda fun and it is easier to learn something when you enjoy it! Many of my students have joined research opportunities and I have also helped them prepare for grad school. If you are a science or chemistry major/minor or if you are not sure what you want to do long term, that is also in the realm of things we can explore.
