About Penny

With 7 years of experience in teaching and professional work, I am a drum tutor who values passion, progress, and purposeful learning. I enjoy teaching students from school to college levels because I believe music can be a powerful source of confidence and creativity for young learners. My own journey with drumming began as a simple hobby, but over time it became a deep passion that shaped my career in education. A significant milestone in my journey was helping a group of students prepare for a live band performance. Guiding them through rehearsals, building their confidence, and finally seeing them shine on stage was one of the highlights of my teaching life. I have also trained students for competitions and school events, where many of them discovered their love for performing and teamwork. My teaching style is simple, structured, and supportive. I focus on foundational skills like rhythm accuracy, timing, hand technique, and coordination. I use clear explanations, slow demonstrations, and practical exercises that help students learn step by step. I also introduce different drumming styles so students can explore various musical expressions and find what inspires them most. I believe that progress comes from patience, consistent practice, and a positive environment. That is why I make sure my lessons are encouraging, engaging, and tailored to each student’s pace. Whether a learner is a beginner or someone looking to improve, I guide them with the same level of dedication and care. For me, teaching drum is more than a profession—it is a chance to inspire, motivate, and help students discover their own musical journey with confidence and joy.

My teaching methodology for Drums is shaped by Motivation, Communication, Integrity, and Creativity. I believe drumming is a powerful way to build rhythm, focus, confidence, and musical expression, and my lessons are created to support students in a simple, structured, and enjoyable manner. Motivation drives the learning process. I set clear goals, celebrate progress, and keep lessons engaging with song-based exercises, rhythm games, and small challenges. This helps students stay encouraged whether they are beginners or already familiar with drums. Communication plays a major role in my classes. I use simple English, slow demonstrations, and step-by-step explanations to make learning easy. Students are always welcome to share doubts or difficulties, and I give guidance that is clear, supportive, and easy to follow. Integrity helps create a strong learning environment. I maintain consistency, provide honest feedback, and teach in a way that builds real skill rather than shortcuts. Students learn discipline, proper technique, and good practice habits that help them grow steadily. Creativity brings life to drumming. I teach students to experiment with patterns, create drum fills, and adapt grooves to different musical styles. I include timing exercises, rhythm reading, coordination drills, and basic music theory so students develop a complete understanding of drumming. Apart from Drums, I also teach rhythm training, percussion basics, tempo control, and music fundamentals that support a student’s overall musical journey.
