About Mark
I received my Certified Public Accounting certificate in 1980 after having passed the CPA exam and having sufficient experience in public accounting to qualify for licensure. I was destined to be my own boss, not because I do not respect authority but because I had confidence enough in my own ability to sell myself and wanted the freedom to set my own schedule and raise my daughter as an active father. The only clients I lost over decades were the ones I dismissed. My clients hooked on to me for several reasons: I know my subject matter, I give sound tax and management advisory advice, I am 100% trustworthy and I have a temperament and personality that is friendly, patient, open to questions and perseverant. When I start a job, I finish it. If you are confused in the beginning, I will alleviate you of your confusion. One-on-one, that is the best way to teach and the best way to learn.

I was a one-on-one tutor in my first-grade class for classmates who could not grasp the fundamentals of math. That is where it started and continued into adult life as an adjunct professor in South Florida where I taught accounting principles and taxation. I did have a tax and accounting practice of my own and combined this with teaching. Having vast and varied experience from real life encounters across many industries did make teaching easier and more fulfilling for both me and my students. It gave me the latitude of taking different approaches to the subject matter at hand as I found that what makes sense to one person does not make sense to another, so a teacher must have the ability to gauge his student and have multiple ways of getting the point across to give his student that Ah-Ha moment.
