About Justin
Music is also an integral passion in my life, and I believe live music has the communicative power to offer solace in unrest, joy in mourning, and hope in despair. During any performance as a violinist, pianist, or conductor, I always aim to create a sound world which guides the listener to explore the emotional state within themselves and what it means to be a human being. Music is a transient art which begins and ends with the performer on stage but continues to touch the hearts of people, inspiring the evolution of human expression that resonates into the future.

- Private lessons for all ages from beginning to performance diploma level
- Core technical foundation taught with Dounis principles on violin learning: playing violin with the mind first and body second
- Scales, arpeggios and etudes selected for fundamental practice (Wohlfahrt, Kreutzer, Sevcik, Rode, Dont etc.)
- Starting on Suzuki method with focus on healthy playing habits, grounded posture and flexibility, and moving on to concerti and sonatas of increasing level
- Typically one hour lessons with fun theory exercises for beginning students
- Preparation for ABRSM and Trinity practical in-person examinations
- Able to provide live piano accompaniment up to Grade 8 level
- LTCL Performance in Violin Performance (2013)
- Top in NZ for Cambridge A Level Music examination, extended study on Bach's Chaconne for solo violin, BWV 1004 (2014)
- Special prize in Gisborne International Music Competition (2018)
- Solo performances in New Zealand, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand
- Choir conducting at Auckland Baptist Tabernacle (2020 - present)
