About Luke
"Luke, 18 years old, from Raleigh, North Carolina, began playing violin at the age of three. He currently studies with Mr. Paul Biss at the New England Conservatory, but will be attending the Juilliard School with Mr. Li Lin in the fall. Luke and his Piano Trio won the National Fischoff Competition Gold Medal in 2020, were featured on NPR’s From The Top (Show 392), and are National finalists for The 2021 American Prize. Luke made his solo debut as Laurette of the Samuel Fordis Young Artist Competition with the Georgia Philharmonic at age 12, performing Mozart’s 4th violin concerto. Luke attends school at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts where he is concertmaster of the Phillips Academy Symphony and Chamber Orchestras and is an active chamber musician. Luke plays first violin in the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra conducted by Maestro Benjamin Zander and has toured to stages in Berlin, Salzburg, Budapest, Pecs, Vienna, Amsterdam, and Jihlava. Luke is a member of the Chamber Music Intensive Performance Seminar at the NEC Preparatory School led by Ms. Merry Peckham. Outside of music, Luke loves hiking, reading, and watching K-Dramas."
