About Xander

I studied Computer Science at the University of Auckland from February 2022 to November 2024, finishing with an A- and A grade point average. I graduated from high school a year early by taking Year 13 Calculus, Statistics, and Computer Science in Year 12 and scoring full excellences in Computer Science and scholarship in Statistics. I organized the technology for the two largest student societies in Aotearoa with thousands of members. I oversaw and ran the technology for a student consulting group with 100 student engineers and 10 real-world projects for charities. I taught both of the official University of Auckland full-stack programming workshops for final year students before I even took them myself. I developed the material for a four-workshop course taught by the University professors. I created and ran 16 different workshops across University with thousands of students attending. I mentored two students who I frequently met with and assisted with their projects and career development. I cofounded a charity for reducing costs of student accommodation for students and organized the technology and finance for the foundation. I saved students $3.2 Million. I founded a fintech company last year ((concealed information) for providing ethical options for savings and investment to kiwi who want to know their money is being used for good. I worked for the largest startup in the country, directly building the product used to save the auto-industry billions of dollars per year in mechanical waste. I am looking to continue helping others learn to code on the side while I work on my fintech startup.

About the lesson

I'm experienced with building cloud-native modern web apps with the most up-to-date technology. I'm experienced with traditional software like Java and SQL, but specialize in modern software such as React, TypeScript, Rust, NoSQL, AWS Microservices. I can help you go from completely inexperienced to building real-life scalable and robust applications you can earn money from. I believe in project-based learning where we learn a concept, try a few examples to better understand, and we then implement it into a project we build over time. Students come out with a strong understanding of how to build a project or product and an example of their learning. I'm happy to teach anybody of any age. Each session should be an hour.
