About Adam
Hello! My name is Adam and I would be thrilled to be your writing tutor. As a lifelong lover of language (and learning in general), I am passionate about helping students improve their writing skills, which in turn helps students to achieve their academic goals!
First and foremost, I want to assure students that I am a qualified and experienced tutor. I worked at both my university's writing and speaking labs, and have probably lead over 100 tutoring sessions at this point. I have assisted students from various backgrounds and skill levels, providing feedback on essays and a variety of assignments and topics.
My approach to tutoring is centered around building a strong rapport with each student and tailoring my teaching style to their individual needs. I believe that effective writing instruction is rooted in patience, empathy, and clear communication. I take the time to listen to students, identify their strengths and areas for improvement, and work with them to develop targeted strategies for success.
Additionally, I am decently learned in citation styles such as MLA, APA, and Chicago/Turabian.
Above all, I value professionalism and respect when working with students. I understand that writing can be a vulnerable and personal process, and I strive to create a safe and supportive environment for each student. I am committed to maintaining confidentiality and respecting students' privacy at all times.
I also provide resources for the client after the session, so they can help themselves and build skills for life.
