About Leonardo
I'm Leonardo, a Computer Engineering student at the University of Oklahoma with a strong passion for mathematics and problem-solving. I completed high school at Li Po Chun United World College in Hong Kong, where I earned a 7 in IB Mathematics AA HL. Since then, I have continued developing my mathematical skills through university-level coursework in calculus and engineering.
I understand that being good at mathematics is not just about knowing formulas, but about knowing how to think through a problem. I bring that same mindset to my tutoring, combining a strong mathematical foundation with clear communication, patience, and a genuine interest in helping students improve.
Whether you are struggling with a topic, preparing for an important exam, or getting ready to begin your university journey, I will take your goals seriously and work with you toward achieving them. My priority is to create a professional and supportive environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, working through challenges, and learning from mistakes. I believe mathematics becomes much easier when you understand why something works instead of simply memorizing a formula or a set of steps. As a Computer Engineering student who earned a 7 in IB Mathematics AA High Level, I prefer to use clear explanations, real-world analogies, and guided problem-solving to help my students build genuine understanding and confidence.
Each lesson is personalized to the student. We begin by identifying what you already understand and where you are struggling, then work through those concepts step by step using simple examples to make them easier to understand. I encourage my students to ask lots of questions, explain their reasoning, and solve problems independently rather than just watching me do all the work.
My lessons are suitable for students studying algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, and related mathematics, including university-level calculus such as Calculus I, II, III and IV. Whether you need help understanding a difficult topic, preparing for an exam, catching up on missed material, or challenging yourself with more advanced problems, I approach each and every lesson with patience.
My goal is not just to help you get the right answer on the homework. I want to help you reach the point where you can look at a new problem and know how to approach it with confidence.
