About Mark

Hello, I’m Lazarus Gualdi. I teach computer basics with a focus on accuracy, patience, and real‑world skills. My background includes two years of professional data review and text editing, plus three years of working efficiently with dual‑monitor setups. That means I don’t just know how to use a computer – I know how to avoid mistakes, stay organized, and keep going when tasks feel repetitive.

Why trust me?
I have spent years checking documents, catching small errors, and managing digital files carefully. Those same skills are what make a great computer tutor: clarity, attention to detail, and the ability to explain the same step as many times as a student needs – without frustration.

My teaching promise to you

Every lesson includes hands‑on practice, not just listening.

I will never use confusing jargon. If you do not understand a word I say, I will rephrase it immediately.

You will learn how to fix your own mistakes, not just follow someone else’s clicks.

Who I work with
Absolute beginners, older adults who feel anxious around technology, middle or high school students, and job seekers who need basic data entry or file‑management skills. No prior experience is required – only a willingness to try.

A note on professionalism
I arrive on time. I prepare each lesson in advance. I keep a clean, distraction‑free teaching setup (including my dual monitors, so you can see exactly what I see). And I treat every question with respect – because there is no such thing as a stupid question when you are learning something new.

I look forward to helping you feel confident and capable with your computer.

– Lazarus Gualdi

My Teaching Method & Techniques
I focus on learning by doing, with an emphasis on accuracy and confidence. Because I come from a data review and text editing background, I teach students to see the computer not as a black box, but as a tool where small, precise actions lead to reliable results.

My core techniques include:

Step‑by‑step modeling – I show a task (e.g., creating a folder, renaming a file, copying text), then explain the why behind each click.

“Teach back” moments – After I demonstrate, the student explains the steps to me or does it from memory.

Error as learning – I deliberately make common mistakes (e.g., saving to the wrong folder) and walk the student through how to spot and fix them – directly from my data review experience.

Dual‑monitor setup – I keep my screen mirrored or side‑by‑side: one monitor shows the task, the other shows a checklist or reference sheet, so the student never feels lost.

A Typical Lesson Plan (60 minutes)
Lesson example: “Organizing files and avoiding lost documents”

Time Activity
0‑5 min Quick check‑in: What frustrated you on a computer this week?
5‑15 min Short demo: Creating, naming, and moving folders/files.
15‑35 min Student practices on their own (or guided) – I watch for hesitation and ask, “What would you click next?”
35‑45 min Editing simulation: I give a scrambled set of files (e.g., “receipt.pdf”, “photo1.jpg”) and ask the student to sort them into folders – a mini data review task.
45‑55 min Review mistakes together – no judgment, just “how would we avoid that next time?”
55‑60 min Wrap‑up and one thing to practice before next lesson.
Every lesson ends with a one‑sentence takeaway (e.g., “Right‑click is your friend for moving files”).

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
Real‑world editing precision – My 2 years of text review taught me to catch small inconsistencies. I pass that eye for detail to students, which helps them avoid accidentally deleting or misplacing files.

Multi‑monitor efficiency (3 years) – Most tutors just talk; I show source material and practice screen side‑by‑side, so students never have to toggle between windows or lose their place.

Patience with repetition – Data review is repetitive by nature. I don’t get bored explaining the same click five times. I turn repetition into muscle memory.

No jargon – I never say “navigate to the directory.” I say “click the folder icon that looks like a manila envelope.”

Who the Lessons Are For
Absolute beginners – Adults or seniors who have never used a computer or feel anxious around them.

Students (middle school / high school) who need basic computer skills for schoolwork (file saving, typing, email attachments, simple data entry).

Job seekers preparing for roles that require basic data entry or text editing – I can incorporate real‑life scenarios like filling forms, renaming batches of files, or proofreading a short document.

No prior experience required – I also work with students who have some exposure but struggle with organization, accuracy, or avoiding mistakes.

Specific levels:

No formal degree needed – just basic literacy (reading instructions).

Lessons tailored for Windows (or Mac, if requested).
